Dressing Down

Gradually you notice
an inability to live
suddenly

surely if
Surly, just a phase
passing, harassing
the advancing days
of that reckoning

A needless and naked
faux nemesis,
this impostor clothed
in the glad rags of
adjudication

As I now wear the
day immune to the
fashionable mania of
any given moment
